About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Partnerships Leader to join our team at Canonical. As a key member of our sales organization, you will be responsible for driving embedded support and licensing sales with Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to exceed quarterly and annual bookings targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Embedded Support and Licensing Sales: Develop and execute strategies to drive embedded support and licensing sales with ISVs, resulting in significant revenue growth.
  • Lead Customer Relationships: Foster and maintain strong relationships with ISV customers, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded throughout the sales, customer success, and support lifecycle.
  • Deepen Open Source Ecosystem Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of the open source ecosystem and its applications, enabling you to effectively engage with ISV customers and drive business growth.
  • Identify and Develop Strategic Partnerships: Identify and develop partnerships that support Canonical's strategic ambitions, driving business growth and revenue expansion.
  • Collaborate with Product Management: Work closely with product management to ensure the fitness of our platforms and solutions for ISV customers, driving product development and innovation.
  • Shape Content and Messaging: Develop and shape content and messaging for ISV partners and customers, ensuring alignment with Canonical's brand and values.
Requirements
  • Exceptional Academic Track Record: Possess an exceptional academic track record from high school and university, with a strong foundation in computer science or a related field.
  • Drive and Business Development Experience: Demonstrate a strong drive and track record of business development experience in the software sector, with a focus on lead generation and sales.
  • Software Licensing and SAAS Knowledge: Possess in-depth knowledge of software licensing and SAAS models, enabling you to effectively engage with ISV customers and drive business growth.
  • Open Source and Linux Ecosystem Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of the open source and Linux ecosystem, enabling you to effectively engage with ISV customers and drive business growth.
  • Cloud and Container Services Knowledge: Possess knowledge of cloud and container services offerings, enabling you to effectively engage with ISV customers and drive business growth.
  • Business English Writing and Presentation Skills: Demonstrate outstanding business English writing and presentation skills, enabling you to effectively communicate with ISV customers and drive business growth.
  • Leadership and Strategic Relationship-Building: Possess strong leadership skills and the ability to establish strategic relationships with large organizations at all levels.
  • Personal Interest in Software and SAAS Industry: Demonstrate a personal interest and engagement in the software and SAAS industry, with a passion for driving business growth and innovation.
  • International Travel: Be willing to travel internationally twice per year for company events, with each trip lasting up to two weeks.
