Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated EV Charging Solutions Specialist to join our Special Projects team. This individual will be a key player in the development, construction, and operation of fully integrated EV charging station networks. The EV Charging Solutions Specialist will be cover all technical aspects of the project, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring that charging stations are built and operated to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, renewable energy systems, and EV charging technologies, with proven experience in managing technical teams and projects. This person will also be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, overseeing on-ground teams, and driving the success of our charging network.
Important: this role requires demonstrated experience and proven knowledge of EV charging technologies, with a particular focus on DC chargers. Candidates will be longlisted on the basis of their ability to demonstrate these aspects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Conceptualization and Planning:
  • Develop and conceptualize the design and layout of EV charging stations, including site selection, charging technology, and infrastructure.
  • Assess and select appropriate EV charging technologies (Level 2, DC fast chargers, etc.) based on project needs and market trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical requirements with business objectives.

2. Technical Leadership:
  • Lead the technical development of the EV charging network, ensuring that all technical aspects are covered from design to deployment.
  • Define and implement technical standards, protocols, and procedures for the installation and operation of EV charging stations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in EV charging technologies and industry best practices, and integrate them into the project.

3. Regulatory Compliance and Documentation:
  • With our our team to prepare and submit all necessary plans, technical drawings, and documentation required for regulatory approvals and permits.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and standards for electrical installations and renewable energy systems.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and authorities to facilitate project approvals and certifications.

4. Team Management:
  • Participate in the hiring, training, and management of on-ground teams, including ushers, technicians, and maintenance staff, ensuring smooth operation and customer satisfaction at all charging stations.
  • Develop and implement training programs for on-ground teams to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for their roles.
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing feedback and support to achieve operational excellence.

5. Construction and Deployment:
  • Oversee the construction and installation of EV charging stations, working closely with contractors, engineers, and vendors.
  • Ensure that all installations are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks to verify that installations meet design specifications and safety requirements.

6. Operations and Maintenance:
  • With with our in-house O&M Team to develop and implement a preventive maintenance plan for all charging stations to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Oversee the troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues related to charging stations, coordinating with vendors and service providers as needed.
  • Ensure the monitoring and analysis of performance of charging stations, making data-driven recommendations for improvements and upgrades.

7. Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including business partners, contractors, and government agencies, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Communicate technical concepts and project updates to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

8. Budgeting and Cost Control:
  • With with our Commercial Team to prepare and manage the technical budget for the project, ensuring that all technical expenditures are within approved limits.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.

9. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance:
  • Liaise with our QHSE Team to ensure that all charging stations are designed and operated in compliance with HSE regulations and best practices.
  • Implement safety protocols and procedures for the on-ground teams and customers using the charging stations.

9. Continuous Improvement:
  • Continuously assess the performance of the charging network and identify opportunities for technical improvements and innovations.
  • Lead efforts to integrate renewable energy solutions, energy storage, and other sustainable practices into the charging station network.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in EV charging infrastructure, electrical engineering, or renewable energy projects.
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of EV charging technologies, standards (e.g., CCS, CHAdeMO), and installation requirements.
  • Proven experience in project management, from concept through completion.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance related to EV infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, electrical design tools, and project management software.
  • Management Skills: Experience in hiring, training, and managing technical and operational teams.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and take full ownership of technical aspects. Strategic thinker with the ability to align technical execution with business goals.
