About Our Team

The Financial Institutions Group (FIG) is one of IFC's key departments responsible for a significant portion of IFC's business volume, profitability, and development reach. We engage in a wide range of sub-sectors, including Microfinance, SME, Gender, Climate, Insurance, Capital Markets, Housing, Distressed Assets, and other areas, with both investment and advisory services delivered globally to IFC's clients through our global network.

Our team in the Middle East, Central Asia, Türkiye, Pakistan and Afghanistan region originates, manages, and monitors IFC's financial sector investments. We are seeking an experienced Strategic Financial Sector Investment Manager to join our team.

About the Role

As a Strategic Financial Sector Investment Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and executing investment opportunities in the financial sector in the MCT region. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions that meet their business objectives.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders to identify business opportunities;
  • Supervising the gathering of lessons learned on essential topics across the portfolio;
  • Contribute to the formulation and implementation of a cross-regional business development strategy;
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to obtain buy-in on deals and negotiate risk and mitigation strategies;

You will also be responsible for assessing and articulating the development impact of various investment projects, maintaining high-level relationships with clients, and staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Master's degree in a related field, such as business administration, finance, economics, or another relevant area of expertise specific to the financial sector. You should also have at least 12 years of relevant experience in business consulting or investment banking, as well as operational experience in the sector or technical or professional field.

A proven track record of success in business development, deal structuring, and project management is essential. You should also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will need to demonstrate a deep understanding of the financial sector and its challenges, as well as a passion for innovation and entrepreneurship. Experience working in emerging markets is highly desirable.
