">About the Position
">This is an exciting opportunity to join a global team dedicated to eradicating polio. As a Public Health Specialist, you will work closely with international partners, governments, and communities to strengthen health systems, improve data collection and analysis, and develop effective strategies to interrupt poliovirus transmission.
">Responsibilities
">- ">
Provide technical guidance and support to countries to strengthen their polio surveillance and response capacities;
">Develop and implement effective communication and outreach strategies to engage communities, governments, and stakeholders in polio eradication efforts;
">Collaborate with WHO country offices, regional offices, and headquarters to coordinate polio eradication activities and ensure consistency across regions;
">Conduct regular field missions to assess progress, identify challenges, and provide technical assistance to countries;
">Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, UN agencies, NGOs, and community leaders;
">Stay up-to-date with the latest scientific research, technologies, and best practices in polio eradication and share knowledge with colleagues and partners;
">Prepare and present reports, briefings, and presentations to senior management, donors, and other stakeholders on polio eradication progress and achievements;
">Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous learning within the team and across the organization.

Requirements
">To be considered for this position, you must have:
">- ">
A Master's degree or higher in public health, epidemiology, health policy, or a related field;
">At least 7 years of experience in public health, with a focus on polio eradication or a related area;
">Demonstrated expertise in polio surveillance, outbreak investigation, and response;;
">Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills;
">Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders;
">Proficiency in English (working language) and ability to communicate effectively in other languages as needed;
">Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills;
">Knowledge of global health policies, frameworks, and standards relevant to polio eradication;
">Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including governments, NGOs, and community groups;
">Ability to travel frequently, up to 50% of the time.
