About the Role

The International Finance Corporation is seeking a seasoned professional to join its Middle East, Central Asia, Türkiye, Pakistan and Afghanistan team as a Senior Investment Officer. As part of the Financial Institutions Group, this individual will play a pivotal role in originating, managing and monitoring investments in the financial sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders to identify business opportunities and engage effectively with other lenders at the working level.
  • Work with clients to understand their needs and improve the quality of IFC's investment portfolio.
  • Supervise the gathering of lessons learned on essential topics across the portfolio and recommend improvements for business development and transaction structuring.
  • Contribute to the formulation and implementation of a cross-regional business development strategy.
  • Collaborate with IFC, World Bank and MIGA teams to support business development for IDA PSW and Blended Finance facilities.
  • Analyze strategically important portfolio trends to identify areas of concentration and contributing factors.
  • Lead teams in structuring deals that balance client expectations with protecting IFC's interests.
  • Perform complex credit risk rating assessments, covenant compliance reviews and development impact assessments.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in a related field (e.g., business administration, finance, economics) and at least 12 years of relevant experience.
  • A proven track record in business consulting or investment banking, as well as operational experience in the sector or technical field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead successful negotiations with clients and stakeholders based on an in-depth understanding of IFC requirements and policies.
  • Capacity to build long-term engagement with clients and maintain ongoing dialogue on their business needs and strategies.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, approaches and lessons and present them in a clear and understandable manner.
