Senior SEO Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated News & Editorial SEO Strategist to join our growing team. In this role, you will work directly with some of the most prominent news websites, digital magazines, and editorial publications in the MENA region. Your primary responsibility will be to support editorial teams in optimizing content for visibility across Google News, Top Stories, and Discover.

This position is ideal for individuals who possess a deep understanding of the news cycle, strong editorial instincts, and the technical knowledge required to adapt to search algorithm changes—particularly within a fast-paced, content-driven environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Headline Optimization:
  Guide and refine headline strategies daily to increase the visibility and click-through rate of published content.
• Live Content Enhancement:
  Continuously optimize live articles to improve performance in Google News and Top Stories.
• Topical Mapping & Brief Creation:
  Build entity-focused topical maps and comprehensive content briefs to support editorial planning.
• Google Discover Strategy:
  Conduct situational analyses and develop action plans to stabilize and increase Discover traffic across key sections.
• Editorial Training & Support:
  Deliver SEO training sessions to editorial teams and serve as the key point of contact for content optimization initiatives.
• News Trend Monitoring:
  Identify and communicate emerging topics and trends relevant to client coverage areas such as politics, business, technology, and culture.
• Content Implementation Oversight:
  Ensure SEO strategies and recommendations are fully implemented by content teams.
• Reporting & Analysis:
  Prepare detailed monthly performance reports outlining achievements, insights, and clear, data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects across different editorial teams.
• Familiarity with structured data and semantic SEO principles (optional but beneficial).
• Proven experience in News or Editorial SEO, preferably with large media organizations or digital publishers.
• Strong news judgment and familiarity with editorial workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic proficiency is an advantage).
• Deep understanding of content visibility mechanics in Google News, Top Stories, and Discover.
• Experience building content strategies based on topical authority and entity-based structuring.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with editorial, content, and strategy teams.
• Working knowledge of SEO tools such as Ahrefs, NewsDash, Sitebulb, GDDash, Screaming Frog, and Google Trends.
