BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
To support the communications team with gathering information and creating written and visual content to enhance the visibility of WFP's work in Jordan across digital and traditional platforms. The candidate will work in the Communications Unit under the direct supervision of the Communications Officer NOB and in collaboration with the other units.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Contribute to drafting, editing, and translating content such as news releases, articles, human-interest stories, and Q&A documents to strengthen visibility of WFP Jordan's activities, ensuring alignment with corporate messaging.
2. Assist in interviewing and gathering information from the field, beneficiaries, partners, and WFP units to support the development of communications materials, including stories, testimonials, visuals, and videos.
3. Support the development of a monthly social media content calendar, and draft posts for WFP Jordan's account on X (formerly Twitter).
4. Monitor mainstream and social media, compile summaries, and provide relevant reports to to inform the design and evaluation of communications activities and strategies.
5. Contribute to the development of donor-related communications and visibility products and prepare tailored content packages for donors.
6. Support the development of creative design products and visual presentations using Canva, Adobe Suite, or other tools, ensuring materials are engaging, aligned with WFP branding, and
tailored to target audiences.

7. Manage the documentation, storage, and regular updating of all content, photos, videos, and reports on the Country Office's SharePoint and WFP's Multimedia Hub to ensure accuracy, organization, and accessibility.
8. Capture photos during events, visits, and ceremonies for documentation and use across social media and other communications materials.
9. Support the Communication with Communities (CwC) programme by reviewing social media key messages and proactively suggesting initiatives to counter misinformation, inform communities about WFP assistance, and promote healthy practices.
10. Track and analyze the performance of communications activities, outputs, and outcomes, including social media, and contribute to reporting on communications results.
11. Provide additional communications support as required.
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT
1- At least four written pieces (e.g., news releases, human-interest stories, or Q&A documents) produced.
2- Six monthly social media content calendars developed and implemented, with posts drafted and scheduled in line with WFP's editorial direction.
3- A summary report of media monitoring, highlighting key coverage, trends, and recommendations to inform communication strategies.
4- Daily news monitoring conducted, identifying relevant news to be shared with key internal stakeholders.
5- At least three donor visibility packages prepared, including tailored content or visuals.
6- A set of creative visual products or presentations, short social media video developed using Canva, Adobe Suite, or other design tools, consistent with WFP branding.
7- Updated and organized content repository on SharePoint and WFP's Multimedia Hub, including verified photos, videos, and/or reports.
8- At least five photo sets captured from the field, covering various WFP activities and events, with a curated selection of photos and captions for use in communication materials.
9- Key achievements and content developed by the Communications Unit organized into a presentation template for tracking purposes.
