Optimiza is looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our database systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of database technologies and will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-quality database solutions that support our business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS).
  • Monitor database performance, perform tuning and troubleshooting, and implement optimizations as necessary.
  • Implement and oversee database security measures, ensuring data privacy and protection.
  • Develop and manage backup and recovery plans to prevent data loss.
  • Collaborate with application developers to optimize database queries and improve application performance.
  • Document database architecture, standards, and procedures for training and reference.
  • Stay updated with new database technologies and industry trends, recommending necessary upgrades and migrations.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior database team members.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a strong knowledge of SQL and database technologies (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
  • Proven experience with database performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and data replication techniques.
  • Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of database security best practices.
  • Experience in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for database management tasks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) are a plus.
