DWH DB Administrator

Optimiza is seeking a talented and experienced Data Warehouse Database Administrator (DWH DBA) to join our data management team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our data warehouse environment, ensuring that data is accessible, accurate, and secure. You will work closely with data architects, ETL developers, and business stakeholders to meet our reporting and analytics needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the architecture, performance, and security of the data warehouse and associated databases.
• Design and implement data models, ETL processes, and data flows to support analytical reporting.
• Monitor and optimize data warehouse performance, ensuring fast and efficient query execution.
• Manage database backup, recovery, and archiving strategies to protect critical business data.
• Collaborate with developers and analysts to define data requirements and ensure data integrity and quality.
• Document data warehouse processes, procedures, and technical specifications.
• Stay updated on emerging data warehousing technologies and trends, recommending improvements to the existing environment.
• Provide mentoring and support to junior DWH DBAs and staff as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in data warehousing and database administration, with a focus on DWH technologies.
• Strong expertise in database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, or Teradata.
• Solid understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with performance tuning and query optimization in a data warehousing environment.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
• Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL scripting for data manipulation and reporting purposes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications in data warehousing or database technologies are an advantage.
