
Fraud Analyst Team Leader

Assisting in protecting Zain Cash from fraud attempts through monitoring, detecting, and reporting Mobile Money fraud cases/threats internally and externally and subsequently investigating their causes, in addition to proposing appropriate controls to reduce and prevent them. The role also includes assessing, determining, and being responsible for selecting fraud management systems for the company. The individual will be accountable for developing, creating, and effectively improving the fraud management system, as well as managing the system and enhancing the department's resources.
Responsibilities- Make regular awareness sessions & orientations on fraud types, red flags, fraud impact and precautions.
- Participating in new business processes' design to ensure and apply proper controls and segregations of duties are in place.
- Analyzing/Evaluating/measuring business and system owners' commitment to fight fraud via continuous monitoring and controls implementation at their ends (sample-based periodic exercises).
- Analyzing employees' privileges on systems and data to maintain integrity and confidentiality.
- Examining and assessing current & new services, products, business processes, systems, privileges & integrations.
- Evaluating fraud risk cause, volume, frequency, dependencies, and impact.
- Designing the best approach to handle fraud (i.e., accepting, avoiding, mitigating, or transferring fraud).
- Administrating & utilizing fraud management system (FMS) to detect suspicious activities and fraudulent trends and acts via validating generated alarms in addition to continuously working on tuning and enriching the system with new pieces of information and streams.
- Monitoring and analyzing fraud activities on network continuously.
- Analyzing money transactions and collecting/extracting data from various sources to unleash fraud patterns.
- Studying suspicious transactions and applying proper controls to ensure secured business flow.
- Exploring new technologies and working with leading vendors to deploy new solutions that would fight new fraud attacks efficiently.
- Reporting detected fraudulent incidents along with their impact, cause and solution to related management.
- Reporting employee-related incidents to HR in addition to reporting fraud exposure and concerns to related teams.
- Complying with internal police in terms of fraudulent incidents management and reporting.
- Exploring new technologies and working with leading vendors to deploy new solutions that would fight new fraud attacks efficiently.
- Handling, monitoring alarms and tickets and documentation
- Performing other duties related to the job as assigned by the direct supervisor.
- Assess, determine, and be responsible for selecting the fraud management systems for the company
- To be responsible for developing, creating, and effectively improving the fraud management system
- To be responsible for anything related to the development or improvement of the fraud management system, including managing the system and being accountable for enhancing the department's resources
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in fraud detection, investigation, or risk management is required, including at least one to 2 years in a supervisory or leadership position.
- Preferred certifications include CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), CFCS (Certified Financial Crime Specialist), or CRMA (Certified Risk Management Assurance
- Experience with fraud management systems, case management tools, and data analytics or business intelligence platforms such as Power BI or Tableau is preferred. Proficiency in SQL or other data querying languages is considered an added advantage.
- Strong ability in data analysis and investigative work
- Proficiency in traditional data analysis tools such as Excel, as well as advanced techniques including artificial intelligence methods
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven leadership and team management abilities
- Strong capability to work collaboratively and coordinate across various departments
