Job Title: Regional Roving HSS Adviser

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Roving HSS Adviser to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and security of our staff and operations across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implementation of NRC Health, Safety, and Security Risk Management System: Develop and implement a comprehensive health, safety, and security risk management system at the national level, ensuring compliance with NRC policies and procedures.
  • Security Risk Analysis: Conduct security risk analysis according to minimum operational security standards, providing reliable security information to inform decision-making.
  • Strategic Advice and Support: Provide strategic advice to the Country Management Group on changes to the context, ensuring that relevant mitigation measures are in place to reduce risks to an acceptable level.
  • Emergency Preparedness and Response: Work with the Country Management Group to develop and implement emergency preparedness plans, providing technical support on security and emergency evacuations.
  • HSS Risk Management: Oversee and support health, safety, and security risk management for staff, assets, operations, and reputation, contributing to NRC's risk management process.
  • Capacity Building and Training: Develop and maintain national health, safety, and security documents and procedures, ensuring consistency and accountability across the country program.
  • Humanitarian Access: Contribute to improving humanitarian access for NRC operations across MERO countries, providing technical support on tools and strategies.
  • Staff Management and Development: Manage, train, and develop staff in safety and security, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Representation and Networking: Represent NRC in health, safety, and security working groups, networks, and with external stakeholders, pursuing and developing relationships to increase and maintain humanitarian access.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in health, safety, and security, with experience in risk management, security analysis, and emergency preparedness. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
