Job Title: Regional Roving HSS Adviser

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Roving HSS Adviser to join our team at the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC). As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and security of our staff and operations in the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implementation of NRC's Health, Safety, and Security Risk Management System: Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management system to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks to our staff and operations.
  • Security Risk Analysis and Mitigation: Conduct regular security risk analyses to identify potential threats and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the safety of our staff and operations.
  • Strategic Advice and Support: Provide strategic advice to our Country Management Group on health, safety, and security matters, ensuring that our operations are aligned with NRC's policies and procedures.
  • Emergency Preparedness and Response: Develop and implement emergency preparedness and response plans to ensure the safety of our staff and operations in the event of an emergency.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Oversee and support the implementation of NRC's risk management and compliance processes, ensuring that our operations are in line with NRC's policies and procedures.
  • Capacity Building and Training: Develop and deliver training programs to build the capacity of our staff in health, safety, and security matters.
  • Representation and Coordination: Represent NRC in health, safety, and security working groups and networks, ensuring that our interests are represented and our operations are aligned with NRC's policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as security management, risk management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in health, safety, and security management, preferably in a humanitarian context.
  • Proven experience in risk management, security risk analysis, and mitigation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
