Translation and Interpretation Assistant reports to DIOS Intake Investigator.

Responsibilities

  • Provides accurate translation of documents and records associated with DIOS Investigations and/or complaints from Arabic to English and viceversa;
  • Undertakes contemporaneous translation/interpretation during DIOS interviews with witnesses, victims and or subjects or others;
  • Produces brief summaries to allegations of misconduct as instructed by the Intake Investigations Officer;
  • Prepares Arabic translation to new forms and DIOS Investigations policies as required;
  • Performs other duties as required by Intake Investigator as a whole;
  • Maintains strict confidentiality pertaining to all above outlined duties;
  • Perform other duties are required.

Work Experience

  • At least six months of relevant experience in performing translation and interpretation, preferably in fields related to investigations or law is required

Special Notice

Type of Contract:
Limited Duration Contract (LDC), Band D.

The Limited Duration Contract for this specific EU project applies to external candidates and UNRWA internal candidates on LDC and FT.

Should the selected candidate be on FT position, and subject to agreement between the releasing and receiving Departments/Field, that candidate will have a lien to their position for the duration of their contract.

LDC- Band D monthly basic salary ranges JOD
