Quality Officer

The Quality Officer will provide technical, administrative, and logistical support to the implementation of Pearson's BTEC programme in partnership with the Ministry of Education (MoE) in Jordan. The role focuses on strengthening quality assurance mechanisms, supporting training and capacity-building, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring proper documentation and reporting.

By assisting the Quality Manager, the Quality Officer will help ensure that assessments, internal verification, and programme delivery are aligned with Pearson standards and MoE frameworks, contributing to improved outcomes for teachers, learners, and vocational centres.

This role will report into the Senior Project Manager with day to day management from the Quality Manager.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities:

Administrative and Logistical Support

  • Respond to BTEC sector inquiries and provide timely support to Ministry staff and vocational centres.
  • Support the Quality Manager by drafting official correspondence, meeting notes, and follow-up action trackers for Pearson and MoE stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper documentation and archiving of QA records, assessment reports, verification forms, and training outputs.
  • Maintain project data and performance evaluation, tracking progress, needs, outcomes, and verification records.
  • Assist and support in any required administrative and logistical requirements

Training, Capacity-Building, and Mentorship

  • Assist in training and upskilling BTEC staff where appropriate, ensuring knowledge transfer and follow-up support.
  • Plan and support training sessions and capacity-building initiatives for centres, teachers, and administrative staff.
  • Collect feedback from teachers and learners through centre visits, surveys or interviews to inform quality improvements.

Quality Assurance and Verification

  • Support the review and validate documents such as assessment materials, teacher resources, centre resources, and internal verification (IV) documents for compliance with Pearson QA standards.
  • Support the planning and organisation of assessments and programme delivery in coordination with the Ministry and Pearson.
  • Support the standard verification process, prepare required documentation and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Assist in monitoring school/centre compliance with Pearson QA standards, flagging issues for escalation.

Monitoring, Field Visits, and Reporting

  • Conduct school visits to identify areas for improvement, collect evidence, and highlight best practices.
  • Maintain a simple log of risks, issues, and concerns raised by schools or Ministry teams and track their resolution.
  • Support the Quality Manager to provide regular reports to Pearson on QA performance, assessments, and overall project implementation progress.

Required experience:

  • Degree or relevant vocational qualifications or extensive experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in education, vocational training, or programme support.
  • Experience in quality assurance, internal verification, or assessment processes.
  • BTEC delivery and assessment experience.
  • Prior experience working with international organisations, TVET institutions, or donor-funded projects is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Pearson BTEC or TVET frameworks in Jordan is an advantage

Required skills: 

  • Strong organisational and coordination skills.
  • Distinguished in Arabic and English (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
