Sales Engineer

Job Summary:
The Sales Engineer will serve customers in Jordan by identifying their machinery and tooling requirements, proposing technical solutions, managing the full sales cycle and maintaining long-term relationships with clients and suppliers. The role is both technical and commercial: you will act as the product advocate, technical advisor and deal driver.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets within Jordan for industrial and CNC machinery.
- Identify, plan and establish contact with new customers to expand market presence.
- Review customer documentation and prepare accurate, competitive quotations and proposals.
- Coordinate all phases of the sales process: initial inquiry, quotation, LPO issuance, deal closure and after-sales follow-up.
- Lead preparation and submission of RFPs, pre-qualifications, presentations, proposals and contracts in line with customer requirements.
- Conduct follow-up visits with existing and prospective clients; provide weekly written reports on sales activities, project status and market developments.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations that clearly explain product capabilities and value propositions.
- Participate in internal sales meetings to validate strategies, refine tactics and plan next actions.
- Collect and report market intelligence: competitor activity, pricing trends, project updates.
- Identify opportunities for new product development or enhancements and make recommendations to management.
- Maintain strong, professional, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring prompt and reliable service.
- Promote the company's reputation for quality, reliability and customer satisfaction in the machinery sector.
- Generate new project and business opportunities aligned with the company's growth strategy.
- Conduct market research in the Jordan market to identify emerging opportunities, customer needs and potential risks.
- Represent the company at networking events, trade exhibitions and promotional activities in the region.
- Develop and maintain solid relationships with new and existing customers for ongoing satisfaction and loyalty.
- Track, analyse and report on potential markets, customer activities and product performance.
- Ensure all customer communications and documentation adhere to company standards for quality, content and format.
- Support knowledge transfer within the team by mentoring, coaching or providing technical training as needed.
- Abide by the company's Code of Conduct and uphold ethical and professional standards at all times.
- Implement and adhere to the company's policies, procedures and operational guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management to support divisional and corporate goals.
Requirements
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration with a strong technical background.
- Minimum 3+ years of prior experience in Sales / Business Development or a related position in the industrial / machinery sector.
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering science and technology: applying principles, techniques, procedures and equipment to design and production of goods and services.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven ability to interpret and communicate moderate to complex technical data.
- Superior communication skills (listening, verbal, written) and interpersonal skills.
- Proven problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of customer escalation and resolution principles (highly preferred).
- Detailed understanding of relevant products and services and ability to regularly explain or deliver them.
- Prior customer service experience and ability to understand and react to customer needs.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to juggle competing priorities.
- Advanced MS Office skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to deal with difficult customers effectively.
- Demonstrated results in meeting sales quotas or business development goals.
- Experience using CRM software to track and analyse sales metrics.
- Strong knowledge of the sales process with ability to understand and interpret customer needs using fact-finding to identify sales opportunities.
