The Financial Institutions Group (FIG) engages in various sectors, including Microfinance, SMEs, Gender, Climate, Insurance, Capital Markets, Housing, Distressed Assets, and more. We deliver investment and advisory services globally to our clients.

**Investment Officer Role**

The FIG Middle East, Central Asia, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Pakistan Regional Industry Team seeks an Investment Officer to be based in Amman, Jordan. The IO will work with the investment team covering the Middle East subregion from the IFC Amman office, focusing on identifying and executing new investment transactions in fragile and conflicted situation (FCS) markets across the region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Promoting, originating, and leading the execution of FIG sector investment projects primarily in Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, regulators, private businesses, and multilateral partners.
  • Leading portfolio supervision of multiple portfolio projects across different asset classes.
  • Using financial competencies and influencing skills to overcome impasses and lead negotiations.
  • Identifying innovative financial structures for clients and developing new transaction mandates.

The successful candidate will work independently and in coordination with senior staff to develop a strong pipeline of good-quality investment opportunities by anticipating market trends and employing sector/country knowledge.

They will also support the development and implementation of FIG MCT strategy, especially in FCS markets.
