The Role of a Pastry Chef

We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to create a variety of desserts, pastries, and bread. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for pastry and bakery creations, as well as a creative approach to developing new and innovative recipes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver Exceptional Guest Experience: Present a wide range of creative and innovative products that meet and exceed guest expectations.
  • Lead and Develop the Kitchen Team: Assist in hiring, training, and developing the kitchen staff, while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
  • Maintain Food Safety and Quality: Ensure that all food safety standards are met, from storage to serving.
  • Stay Ahead of the Competition: Continuously evaluate local, national, and international market trends, vendors, and hotel/restaurant operations to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Special Dietary Requirements: Demonstrate working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations, such as gluten-free and sugarless pastries.
  • Cost Control: Follow standard recipes and minimize waste to ensure that the outlet's food cost is in line with budget.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of the English language.
  • Ability to use computer systems.
  • Knowledge of kitchen cost control.
