Job Title: Technical Department Manager

A key member of our team at Aroma City Group, the Technical Department Manager will oversee the technical aspects of our construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and supervise a team of landscape architects, civil and MEP engineers, quantity surveyors, and other professionals to ensure all project aspects are technically sound.
  • Perform technical risk assessment and management during tendering and execution, identifying potential issues and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Review technical tender documents and requirements, supporting the tendering and pricing process.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including subconsultants and specialized suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive technical project documentation, including drawings and issue logs.
  • Prepare construction method statements in collaboration with construction personnel, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Prepare and submit technical and material submittals, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Review permanent and temporary designs against project requirements, highlighting any interference with utilities and third parties.
  • Prepare temporary works drawings and site-related design drawings, ensuring they meet project specifications.
  • Follow up on permanent work design and coordinate with the site, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Prepare technical comparison sheets of offers received from subcontractors and follow up on subcontracted works, including payment applications.
  • Coordinate with and supervise consultants and specialized contractors, ensuring they meet project requirements.
  • Prepare and submit operations manuals, outlining project procedures and protocols.
  • Document project issues and conditions, maintaining organized and detailed project records.
  • Summarize data logically and verify observations or interpretations, ensuring accurate project reporting.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a constantly changing business environment, adapting to new challenges and opportunities.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of shop drawings and as-built drawings, ensuring they meet project specifications.
  • Keep track of design changes and perform design tasks as needed, ensuring project continuity.
  • Oversee the quantity surveying efforts, including the preparation of applications for payment, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in construction and technical oversight with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, both verbal and written.
  • In-depth knowledge of CAD programs and technical software relevant to the construction and landscaping industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills to handle complex challenges in construction projects.
  • At least 15 years of experience in a construction company, preferably on larger projects.
