Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate effectively with a distributed team to drive project success
  • Design and implement high-quality software solutions to meet business needs
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring seamless delivery of projects
  • Provide constructive code reviews to foster a culture of excellence
  • Contribute to the development of sound engineering principles and strategies
  • Estimate work, set goals, and deliver results in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications, identifying potential risks and challenges
  • Work remotely with occasional global travel for internal and external events
  • Understand project completion criteria and drive work to completion
  • Mentor and manage staff, promoting growth and development
  • Streamline processes to reduce complexity and improve efficiency
  • Effectively communicate with engineering teams, senior management, and stakeholders to set and manage expectations
  • Deliver technical solutions to address business needs in a timely manner
  • Promote modern software development practices and contribute to the development of great engineering and organizational practices
  • Lead a globally distributed team of web engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development
  • Support the delivery of technical solutions to address business needs
  • Foster a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with company values
  • Participate actively in the leadership team, collaborating with other leaders in the organization
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge and passion for web and software development
  • Curiosity, flexibility, articulateness, and accountability
  • Commitment to learning and applying web best practices
  • Value soft skills and possess a passion for enterprise, thoughtfulness, and self-motivation
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field
  • Experience working in an agile development environment

  • Own architecture and solve larger technical challenges
  • Be a trusted advisor for your area of expertise within Canonical
