About the Role:

In this key position, you will play a vital role in the efficient and effective workings of the finance department. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for executing daily tasks with a strong attention to detail, utilizing your strong accounting knowledge, time management skills, and effective problem-solving skills to maintain the proper company accounting records for day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-Day Transactions: Process transactions according to stated procedures, ensuring all transactions are recorded promptly and accurately. Perform month-end closing activities with the team, ensuring financial information in BS and P&L is accurate and meets deadlines.
  • Cash & AR: Maintain cash & receivable master data, ensuring sales & collection processes controls are in place. Collect and record receivable proceeds within agreed payment terms and KPIs. Reconcile cash and bank ledgers, and accurately record receivables in the proper ledger account.
  • AP & Payments: Maintain AP master data, liaise with other departments to ensure invoices/accruals are booked. Release payments to suppliers on time, reconcile supplier ledgers, and record invoices accurately and in proper ledger accounts.
  • Tax & Audit: Prepare tax returns (Special Sales Tax, General Sales Tax, Withholding Tax & Corporate Income Tax) in close cooperation with the Tax Manager and EY for final validation before submission. Assist in year-end financial and tax audits in compliance with statutory and company requirements.

Requirements:

  • University Degree in Accounting or Finance. Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are a plus.
  • 2-3 years of experience in accounting function within a FMCG company (international experience is a plus).
  • Fluent Arabic and excellent English language skills.
  • International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) knowledge.
  • Analytical skills, attention to detail, initiative, and high-level communication skills.
  • SAP HANA experience is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, PowerBI is a plus.
