Intake Assessment Associate reports to DIOS Intake Investigator

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Intake Investigator by drafting written assessments of allegations of misconduct, including breach of neutrality, and clearly outlines the available information;
  • Assesses the credibility, materiality, materiality feasibility verifiability of each complaint;
  • Makes appropriate recording, organizing and following up the received complaints and misconduct allegations; arranges interviews and communicates with investigators, complainants, witnesses and subjects of investigations;
  • Supports investigators through gathering background documentation and carrying out basic legal research, providing preliminary recommendations, contributing to discussions concerning field investigation procedures, applicable policies and specific case developments;
  • Creates, organizes and maintains a database for the Unit documentation; updates and keeps track of cases to be opened, processed or closed; searches and provides statistical and the other required information; provides input and assists in finalizing investigation reports to the required content and quality standard;
  • Assists investigators in the conduct of investigations if required.
  • Performs other tasks as required.

Work Experience

  • At least two years of relevant experience preferably in supporting investigation inquiries, communications or related field. Experience working in handling complaints is also considered are required.

  • Experience working in the United Nations is desirable.

Special Notice

Type of Contract:
Limited Duration Contract (LDC), Band E.

The Limited Duration Contract for this specific EU project applies to external candidates and UNRWA internal candidates on LDC and FT.

Should the selected candidate be on FT position, and subject to agreement between the releasing and receiving Departments/Field, that candidate will have a lien to their position for the duration of their contract.
