We are a fast-growing online marketplace company headquartered in the Middle East, transforming how consumers and businesses buy and sell online. With a diverse and dynamic team across departments including Sales, Technology, Finance, Legal, Data, and Customer Care, we are in need of strong operational leadership within our HR function to support our growth.

We are seeking a results-driven HR Director to lead and optimize our HR operations. This role will focus on building scalable processes and systems to support workforce management, compliance, compensation, performance administration, and HR data reporting. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of HR operational excellence within a multi-departmental, tech-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day HR operational functions including HR systems management, employee lifecycle administration, payroll coordination, and data accuracy
  • Manage and implement and (where necessary) assist with documenting HR processes and policies to ensure efficiency, compliance, and scalability
  • Implement and manage HR systems (e.g., onboarding platforms, performance review, payroll, and attendance systems)
  • Assist with compliance & risk management
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations across jurisdictions in the Middle East.
  • Manage employee documentation, and regulatory reporting
  • Assist with building a workplace culture that fosters creativity, personal development and growth
  • Partner with department heads to support workforce planning, staffing metrics, and headcount tracking
  • Deliver data-driven HR insights to guide decision-making at the leadership level.
  • Manage compensation structures, salary benchmarking, and benefits administration
  • Ensure timely and compliant payroll coordination with Finance
  • Coordinate performance cycle administration (reviews, tracking, records)
  • Work on process improvement initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process enhancement
  • Lead implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across HR operations
  • Manage relationships with third-party HR vendors (payroll providers, insurance, HR tech)
  • Evaluate and recommend HR tools and software for operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's or HR certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM) is a plus
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 4 years in a senior HR operations or HR services role
  • Experience in tech-driven, multi-departmental organizations; marketplace or e-commerce sector preferred
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR regulations in the Middle East
  • Proven experience managing HR systems
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills with fluency in Arabic and English
