Job Description

JOSA, a Jordanian organization dedicated
to open-source technology for social good, seeks a tech-savvy specialist
to join our team as a Gender and Social Inclusion Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong alignment with JOSAs values and mission.
  • Bachelors
    degree in Social Sciences, or similar. Alternatively, a degree in
    Computer Science, or similar, with strong knowledge of Diversity and
    Inclusion.
  • Passion for inclusive technology, digital accessibility, open-source technology, and digital social innovation.
  • Professional experience in similar programs, e.g. gender programs and/or protection and/or safeguarding.
  • Familiarity with related Standards, Safeguarding Principles, and International Protection Frameworks.
  • Experience
    facilitating training sessions, workshops, key informant interviews,
    and focus group discussions using participatory approaches.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.
  • Self-motivated, highly responsible, flexible, and culturally sensitive.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct analysis, including GBA+, on how technology impacts different groups and identify barriers to inclusion.
  • Develop
    plans and integrate gender, diversity, inclusion and accessibility
    principles in the design, implementation, and evaluation of our
    activities.
  • Research, assess and identify potential impacts of
    technology on different communities, especially women and girls, and,
    marginalized groups.
  • Develop approaches to make technology more
    diverse, inclusive and accessible, and, explore methods to enhance
    participation of underrepresented groups in the tech sector and open
    source communities.
  • Prepare and conduct training for JOSA team
    members, community members, and organizations, develop related policies,
    and, create and publish materials, including blog posts, articles,
    infographics, and research papers.
  • Represent JOSA in national, regional, and global discussions on inclusive technologies, TFGBV, and technology-related topics.

REPORTING

The Gender and Social Inclusion Officer reports to the Program Coordinator.
