Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Business Intelligence team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex Business Intelligence solutions that drive business growth and improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Critically Assess Stakeholder Requests: Develop the best solution to meet business needs by critically assessing stakeholders' requests.
  • Lead Design and Implementation: Lead the design and implementation of complex Business Intelligence solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Mentor and Guide: Mentor and provide guidance to junior Business Intelligence engineers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Conduct Performance Tuning: Conduct performance tuning of Business Intelligence queries and dashboards to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with stakeholders to define Business Intelligence requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Stay Abreast of Industry Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in Business Intelligence technologies to ensure our solutions are cutting-edge.
Basic Qualifications
  • Degree in Relevant Field: A degree in Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, or Computer Science.
  • Extensive Experience: Extensive experience with multiple Python libraries, including experience creating, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models.
  • Experience with AWS Technologies: Experience with AWS technologies, including S3, Lambda, SageMaker, Redshift, and IAM roles and permissions.
  • Experience with SQL and Data Visualization: Experience building complex SQL queries with large-scale datasets and building products on data visualization tools, such as QuickSight, PowerBI, and Tableau.
  • Experience with Data Modeling and ETL Pipelines: Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Scripting Language Experience: Experience with scripting languages, such as Python, Java, or R.
  • Understanding of Statistical Methods: Understanding of statistical methods, such as t-test and Chi-squared.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience Working with Business Stakeholders: Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs.
  • Technical Program Management/ Product Management: Experience with Technical Program Management or Product Management.
  • Experience with AWS Solutions: Experience with AWS solutions, such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift, and knowledge of AWS services and Data Engineering basics.
  • Experience with Big Data Technologies: Experience with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and EMR.
  • Experience with Non-Relational Databases: Experience with non-relational databases, such as object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, and column-family databases.
  • Experience in Designing and Delivering Custom Reporting Solutions: Experience in designing and delivering cross-functional custom reporting solutions.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven Ability to Meet Deadlines: Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and prioritize workload.
  • Strong Work Ethic: A strong work ethic based on a desire to exceed expectations.
  • Proven Ability to Influence Business Partners: Proven ability to influence business partners to balance the need to deliver fast and build scalable solutions.
