Job Overview

As a Network Access Maintenance L2 Team Leader at Umniah, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all corrective and preventive maintenance activities for the L2 maintenance team across various sites. Your primary goal will be to ensure that network KPIs are met while adhering to health and safety measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Planning: Develop a comprehensive maintenance plan for the L2 team, encompassing power, RAN, and MW systems across Umniah's sites, to guarantee network quality standards are met.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and threats within the L2 responsible area, create plans to mitigate and overcome these threats, and ensure their effective implementation.
  • Site Monitoring: Regularly monitor L1 activities to ensure that all maintenance tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Site Visits and Audits: Conduct random and regular site visits and audits to verify that maintenance activities are performed correctly, and provide support in complex maintenance situations.
  • Performance Review: Review technical and statistical reports related to power systems, MW, and RAN performance, as well as overall maintenance activities, and communicate updates with management.
  • Budgeting: Participate in building and developing the yearly budget to maintain network availability.
  • Spare Parts Management: Ensure the availability of spare parts to prevent network failures.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that all team members adhere to health and safety measures to prevent potential hazards or injuries.
  • Test Planning: Develop periodic test plans for RNC, BSC, and Big Nodes.
  • Process Enhancement: Review and enhance L1 and L2 processes and procedures.
  • Escalation and Liaison: Liaise with L1 teams to clear site snags and escalate issues as necessary.

Leadership and Management

  • Team Supervision: Supervise the handling of operations and maintenance for power systems in Umniah nodes/sites.
  • Maintenance Supervision: Supervise the maintenance of RAN and MW systems in Umniah sites/nodes.
  • Task Distribution: Lead and distribute assigned tasks to the L2 team.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor the response level of L1 and L2 maintenance activities and its impact on operational performance to maintain agreed SLAs and OLAs.
  • Documentation: Supervise the documentation of maintenance activities.
  • Contract Management: Supervise vendors in corrective and preventive maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electromechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Intermediate experience in a related field.
  • Technical Skills
    • Power Systems: Working knowledge of power system installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
    • Telecom Systems: Advanced knowledge of telecom system installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
    • Network Operations: Working knowledge of 3G, 4G, 5G operation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
    • MW Systems: Working knowledge of MW operation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
    • DC and AC Systems: Working knowledge of DC and AC systems.
