At Agiamondo, we believe in a world where conflicts are resolved without violence. As the personnel service of German Catholics for development cooperation, our mission is to make a meaningful contribution to civil conflict resolution and sustainable development in crisis and conflict regions. We partner with local organizations in Jordan to strengthen their capacities and support their work.

Jordan Context
Jordan is a culturally and religiously diverse country with a rich history. Approximately half of the population has Palestinian origin, and the country has welcomed over 1 million refugees from Iraq, Syria, and East Africa in recent years. These individuals often face challenges accessing education and healthcare. The country's young population, comprising 63% people under 30, makes promoting tolerance and social cohesion crucial for its future.

Our Approach
We follow a bottom-up approach at URI MENA, focusing on strengthening grassroots interfaith self-organization groups. These groups engage in interfaith dialogue, human rights advocacy, education, community development, humanitarian aid, conflict resolution, environmental sustainability, youth leadership, and political advocacy initiatives that benefit local communities. Our goal is to empower these groups to take ownership of their projects and drive positive change in their areas.

Job Description
We seek a skilled Communication Scientist for Interreligious Peace Initiative to support our partner organization in Jordan. Your role will involve developing and implementing communication strategies that promote URI MENA's objectives and amplify its impact. You will maintain relationships with stakeholders, foster open lines of communication, and involve them in strategic initiatives. Additionally, you will advise and support the cooperation circles in Jordan, especially in interfaith dialogue and peace work areas. By increasing the visibility of URI MENA through targeted communication measures, you will contribute to the organization's growth and influence in the region. Your duties may also include financial administration and collaboration with colleagues from the partner organization.

Your Profile
To succeed in this role, you must possess strong organizational and project management skills, allowing you to effectively plan, implement, and monitor communications projects. You should have experience in public relations and media relations, as well as stakeholder engagement. Proficiency in digital communications, including website management, content creation, e-marketing, and social media strategies, is essential. Ideally, you will have knowledge of communication strategy development and implementation, with a focus on engaging internal and external stakeholders. EU citizenship or Swiss nationality is required, along with an understanding of church development and peace work goals and concerns.

What We Offer
AGIAMONDO provides individualized preparation, a three-year contract with social security and remuneration according to the Development Aid Act, and opportunities for further training in-country or other professional skills.
