Purpose:
Follow up on the origination, structuring, execution, syndication and portfolio management of corporate, structured finance and project finance transactions while managing strategic client relationships and supervising the Syndication team.
Scope of Work
Key Responsibilities
Follow up on originated syndicated lending, structured finance, and project finance opportunities from existing and prospective Corporate, Government-Related Entity (GRE), and sponsor clients. Manage strategic client relationships and act as the primary Relationship Manager throughout the transaction lifecycle. Conduct financial analysis, financial modelling, sensitivity analysis, and transaction valuation. Prepare credit proposals for Credit Committees and senior management. Prepare and review mandate letters, fee letters, term sheets, LMA finance documents, and intercreditor arrangements. Follow up and monitor the implementation of agreed syndication and distribution strategies, including lender selection and final allocation. Liaise with commercial banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), Export Credit Agencies (ECAs), institutional investors, and legal advisers as required to achieve Unit objectives in a timely manner. Coordinate and follow up on technical, legal, insurance, tax, environmental and social, and financial due diligence as required for transactions under consideration. Ensure compliance with the Bank’s internal policies, Basel requirements, AML/KYC requirements, ESG standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Follow up on the execution of transactions through signing, satisfaction of conditions precedent, financial close, disbursement, post-closing activities, and ongoing relationship management obligations. Manage portfolio performance, covenant compliance, waivers, restructurings, amendments, and annual reviews. Monitor transaction and portfolio profitability using RAROC, ROE, economic capital, and portfolio analytics. Prepare and update business pipeline, portfolio, fee income, and management reports. Participate in the Bank’s negotiations, industry forums, and client meetings. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration. MBA Master's degree or Professional qualification preferred. Minimum 5 years of banking experience in syndicated finance (corporate and structured /project or leveraged finance). Good experience in originating and leading syndicated. Good knowledge of LMA documentation and syndicated loan execution. Solid experience financial modelling/reviewing, credit analysis and risk structuring skills. Good understanding of regulatory requirements, Basel III, IFRS 9, RAROC, ESG and portfolio management. Good negotiation, presentation and stakeholder-management skills. Fluent in English and Arabic. Advanced Microsoft Office skills and proficiency with AI productivity tools and financial databases. Key Performance Expectations Syndicated loan exposure, Net Interest Income and Non-Interest Fee (NIF) fee income and return and profitability. Approval turnaround time, transaction closing ratio and execution timelines. Portfolio asset quality and covenant compliance. Cross-sell and client/prospect relationship development (i.e number of New-To Bank).
