Develop and oversee the bank's integrated governance and compliance framework, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives, regulatory requirements, and risk tolerance. Act as the primary advisor to the Board and senior management on all governance and compliance matters.

  • Develop and execute the bank's integrated governance and compliance strategy, aligning it with business objectives and risk tolerance.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive framework for all corporate policies and procedures, ensuring they align with governance principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on all governance and compliance issues, providing guidance and strategic advice to the Board of Directors, its committees, and senior management.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all required reports to the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI), including compliance reports, customer complaint reports, and fraud mandatory reports.
  • Conduct regular governance effectiveness reviews and compliance audits to identify non-compliance matters, assess risk exposure, and provide recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in compliance, governance, or risk management within the banking sector, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
  • A minimum of 7 years of direct experience working within a bank
  • Years of experience: 7+ years in compliance of which 3 years in leadership compliance role.
  • Native Arabic and professional fluency in English (both written and verbal) are required.
