About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who is passionate about building great products for our customers. You need to be dynamic, collaborative, and curious as we build new experiences, improve existing products, and develop distributed systems powering the Middle East largest travel e-commerce websites.

Responsibilities:

• Design Technical/Integration Architectures, including development, runtime, and operations architectures

• Define scalable solutions using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) patterns, and microservices automating business process models and cloud-based services.

• Design message and event-driven architectures.

• Lead implementation of large, complex solutions from establishing project requirements and goals to solution "go-live"

• Provide Technical design across multiple projects and clients

• Provide Technology Consulting services covering areas such as Architectural Strategy, Architectural review/audit and Architecture road-map.

• Manages the risks, issues, and dependencies of the scoped solution

• Responsible for roadmaps for integration technologies (current and future).

• Introducing Agile processes to the existing team

Profile requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.

• 4+ years of intensive Java backend development and solution architecture. (Java, Spring Boot, API Security, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Sql and NoSql databases, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS)

• Knowledge in NodeJS is nice to have

• Should be working on Java 8 or Java 11

• Strong experience in hands-on platform delivery and architecture design

• Full understanding of Cloud service, AWS and DevOps tools and CI/CD process

• Strong experience with the full life cycle of Agile software development processes, approaches, delivery and methods with scaling to the Enterprise and release management processes.

• Thought leadership and Technical knowledge combined with delivery experience in some of these areas: ○ Legacy platform migration ○ RESTful APIs and API gateways ○ Microservices based Architecture ○ Cloud deployment (AWS mainly)

• Ability to influence and guide senior stakeholders on technical solutions

• Excellent documentation, presentation and communication skills

About the job:

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who is passionate about building great products for our customers. You need to be dynamic, collaborative, and curious as we build new experiences, improve existing products, and develop distributed systems powering the Middle East largest travel e-commerce websites.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement web-based PHP/node applications to support business requirements.

• Create design documents, perform program coding and testing, following the agile methodology.

• Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.

• Develop well-written, testable, and efficient code

• Working with functional, testing, and data teams and transferring knowledge when necessary

• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle

Profile requirements:

• You have at least 5 years of experience in PHP Laravel/Lumen Development, ideally in an e-commerce company

• You are hands-on in MongoDB

• Experience with Elasticsearch or SOLR  (nice to have)

• You have an excellent understanding of Microservices/ service-oriented architecture (SOA), SOLID principles, REST API design

• You have designed databases in the past, and have experience with SQL and NoSQL database

• Software testing (PHPUnit, Codeception, PHPSpec)

• You have built web services using Lumen

• You have worked in AWS environment

• Proven track record of always learning and growing

• Experience with caching and scaling techniques
