Apigee Administrator

Optimiza is seeking a highly skilled Apigee Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and managing the Apigee API management platform to ensure high performance, security, and availability of our API solutions. Your expertise will be critical in supporting the development teams and enhancing the API ecosystem within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer the Apigee platform, including the deployment and monitoring of API proxies, analytics, and traffic management.
• Ensure optimal performance and security of API endpoints through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Implement API governance best practices, including policies for security, rate limiting, and error handling.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and support APIs, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
• Manage user access, roles, and permissions within the Apigee platform.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to API management processes, procedures, and best practices.
• Stay informed of the latest developments in API technologies and best practices to continually enhance the API management process.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff and support other teams in adopting API best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience as an Apigee Administrator or in a similar API management role.
• In-depth knowledge of the Apigee platform and its features, including API proxies, analytics, and policies.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and best practices.
• Experience with API security standards (OAuth, JWT, etc.) and implementing security measures.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and CI/CD practices.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or similar for automation tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications in Apigee or API management platforms are a plus.
