Accounting and Compliance Specialist

At Jordan River Foundation, we are seeking a highly skilled Accounting and Compliance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accounting activities in accordance with authorized delegation and international and local accounting standards and principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate journal entry of all accounting transactions on the system, adhering to internal controls procedures.
  • Verify that journal entry transactions are based on received and issued invoices, with supporting documents attached and reviewed by the senior accountant.
  • Register and enter invoices accurately on the accounting system, verifying supplier/service provider invoices match receive forms and services provided.
  • Contribute to scheduling approved invoices in accordance with payment terms agreed with suppliers/service providers, controlling cash flow.
  • Prepare cheques for approved invoices, adhering to financial and accounting policies, and send them to the senior accountant for review.
  • Maintain procedures for registering and updating invoices status on the accounting system, ensuring correct implementation of procedures.
  • Maintain procedures for debit/credit transactions entries for suppliers/service providers, ensuring correct implementation and sending them to the senior accountant for review.
  • Maintain procedures related to approved cheques, settling credit accounts with the General Ledger in accordance with financial and accounting policies and principles.
  • Maintain procedures for auditing and matching receive/transfer forms, ensuring necessary data is entered on the accounting system.

Requirements:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
