Job Title: Data Responsibility Advisor

UNOPS is seeking a highly skilled Data Responsibility Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in promoting data responsibility and ensuring the integrity of our data management practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Data Responsibility Adoption: Collaborate with field colleagues to implement the OCHA Data Responsibility Guidelines in operational contexts.
  • Represent OCHA: Serve as a subject-matter expert and facilitator in inter-agency, intergovernmental, multilateral, private sector, and non-governmental fora.
  • Lead Report Preparation: Develop written reports, documents, and communications on data responsibility issues.
  • Advise on Training Materials: Support the development of training materials to enhance field colleagues' understanding of data responsibility guidance.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Foster partnerships to catalyze investment in data responsibility initiatives.
  • Data Security and Protection: Provide technical and strategic oversight on data security and protection, aligning with UN Secretariat policies.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Track the adoption of data responsibility by OCHA offices and contribute to the Centre's and OCHA's results framework.
  • Case Studies: Research and prepare case studies to inform audiences about the impact of data responsibility support.
  • Strategic Inputs: Provide strategic inputs for meetings with senior managers and stakeholders.
  • Field Trips: Participate in field trips to review data sharing practices in response to field office requests.
Requirements:
  • Education: An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in political science, social science, public administration, international studies, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: A first-level university degree in combination with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
