Mental Health Psychosocial Support Specialist

Save the Children International is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Psychosocial Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in supporting the mental health and psychosocial well-being of children and families in need.
Key Responsibilities:- Community-based MHPSS Supports: Collaborate with MHPSS Officers to design, plan, and deliver community-based mental health promotion and prevention activities, addressing local community concerns, caregiver, and child needs.
- Structured MHPSS Interventions: Train and capacitate MHPSS teams to plan and conduct structured MHPSS activities, based on agreed intervention packages and curriculums, ensuring quality implementation and ongoing identification of training and capacity support needs.
- Person-focused MHPSS Supports: Collaborate with thematic Advisors/Specialists to identify entry points for person-focused MHPS supports within Child Protection and other thematic programming, developing roll-out/scale-up plans and contextualizing practice guidelines and SOPs.
- Staff Wellbeing: Support the HR Department in developing staff wellbeing policies and plans, procurement/recruitment of individual staff supports, and designing mental health promotion/self-care activities for staff.
- MEAL: Collaborate with MEAL staff to oversee and provide technical support to the field-level implementation of robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems for MHPSS activities, ensuring safe and ethical data collection, storage, and reporting.
- Coordination and Representation: Work with program and area managers to ensure operational support for MHPSS Officers, providing ongoing feedback to the HoP on operational needs and funding requirements, and contributing to proposal development and national, regional, and global advocacy.
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in mental health and psychosocial support, with experience in community-based programming, structured interventions, and person-focused support. You will also need excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including children, families, and staff.
