Key Responsibilities
  • Data Modeling and Development: Develop, maintain, and optimize scalable data models with a focus on our Semantic Layer, ensuring high-quality, clean, and maintainable analytical code.
  • Data Curation and Documentation: Curate, organize, and document data definitions and metrics to improve the usability of our data while maintaining data quality.
  • Collaboration and Innovation: Collaborate with data analysts and data engineers to create innovative analytical products that drive actionable insights.
  • Technical Scoping and Best Practices: Assist in the technical scoping of projects that impact our data transformation layer to ensure alignment with data engineering goals, and develop and communicate best practices in Analytics Engineering.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working with data, showcasing advanced technical expertise in data model development, data pipelines, and analytical tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of dbt.
  • Proficiency in writing analytical SQL with a deep understanding of the distinction between functional SQL and performant SQL.
  • Familiarity with the tools in our data stack, including Redshift, Airflow, and Python.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with effective communication abilities across various mediums and a proactive collaborative approach.
  • A pragmatic mindset that values simplicity and effectiveness in solutions.
  • Desire to work in a respectful, transparent, and collaborative environment, aligned with Hotjar's company values and culture.
