Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Database Administrator to lead our database management team. As a critical member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, security, and integrity of our database systems.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of database technologies and will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-quality database solutions that support our business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Implementation: Design, install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS).
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance, perform tuning and troubleshooting, and implement optimizations as necessary.
  • Security Measures: Implement and oversee database security measures, ensuring data privacy and protection.
  • Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup and recovery plans to prevent data loss.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with application developers to optimize database queries and improve application performance.
  • Documentation: Document database architecture, standards, and procedures for training and reference.
  • Staying Updated: Stay updated with new database technologies and industry trends, recommending necessary upgrades and migrations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a strong knowledge of SQL and database technologies (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
  • Skills: Proven experience with database performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and data replication techniques.
  • Additional Skills: Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
  • Strong Understanding: Strong understanding of database security best practices.
  • Scripting Experience: Experience in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for database management tasks.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
