Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the establishment of Program across three sites in Jordan with a focus on English Language (EL) learning objectives, instructors' management and teaching quality assurance.
The Program English Language (EL) Coordinator will support the overall day-to-day implementation, quality assurance, and program planning across the 3 sites, in close coordination with the Program Manager.
S/He will coordinate with the Program Manager the communication, planning, quality management, and overall implementation of the program.
The Program EL Coordinator will also supervise EL Trainers and will support the project implementation by conducting regular field visits to program sites, conduct spot class observations, provide feedback to instructors, and supporting line management in assessing program quality, monitoring and evaluation.
S/he will interact regularly with the program instructors embedded in various program locations, stakeholders, students, and staff at each program location, and will conduct program quality assurance on behalf of Amideast.
S/he will ensure instructors submit student progress reports and development plans and ensure communicating these outcomes to the training POC within the training locations for appropriate actions if any.
The Program EL Coordinator, will assist the Program Manager in the development of program reporting, assessment, and monitoring.RESPONSIBILITIES
Main duties in coordination with the Program Manager:
Oversees EL Trainers and coordinates quality assurance activities, including program and curricula reviews, assessment reviews, student achievement tracking, and timely reporting to the donor/partner
Prepares grade sheets, reporting matrix and trainer selection for programs, both on and off site
Monitors program progress, review instructors' reports, and ensures program outputs are in line with previously agreed objectives to the satisfaction of the client
Participate and contribute the new course offerings, the development of tailored curricula, and the selection of appropriate assessment means
Develops systems for program and student tracking and monitoring and ensures instructors commit to reporting schedules using these tools and systems
Conducts orientation for trainers new to the program
Coordinates with department colleagues on trainers' assignments and schedules
Collaborates closely with other Amideast departments, including regional experts, for support as needed
Conducts periodic site visits and quality assurance assessment of EL services held at the three sites and coordinates with the Program Manager on improvements in implementation and planning, if any
Supports local and regional Amideast program staff in data collection within program indicators and M&E scope
Coordinates classroom monitoring with instructors
Follow-up with partners on improvement requests for class-room management, learning, classroom tools and reviews these requests and provides recommendations for the PM
Assists Amideast staff in preparing statistical and narrative reports about the program and results
Prepares program tracking sheets for attendance, performance, or any other required metric sheets for program and courses
Conducts background checks on prospective instructors
Maintains accurate and up to date filing and records in compliance with program requirements
Communicates and coordinates frequently, accurately, and responsibly with Amideast's office in Amman and regional program staff
Exhibits behavior and communications that reflect Amideast's goals of strengthening partnerships and understanding
Follows Amideast's standard operating procedures
Performs any other Amideast work-related duties requested by the Program Manager and/or Country Director, including supporting in the task load of other departments as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in education, English language, or a related field
A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience including at least 2 years of English language training experience plus experience in training program administration
Previous experience in working on donor-funded programs is preferable
Previous experience in coordinating teacher pools, teaching schedules, plans and conducting classroom observations is highly desirable
Knowledge of the American culture, education, and society is preferable
Knowledge of English language teaching methods and materials is a plus
Cultural exchange experience is preferable
Proficiency in English is C1 and above (CEFR Level Alignment)
Advanced computer literacy in MS Office
Must possess advanced interpersonal skills such as strategic thinking, time management, prioritizing responsibilities, problem-solving, cross-cultural understanding, conflict resolution, and excellent oral and written communication
Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines
